Grand Master Robert H.Bowles, has studied the martial arts for over 48 years and holds the rank of 10th degree Black Belt. He is Chief Instructor of the Shuri-Ryu system of Karate-Do and a direct student of the late Grand Master Robert A Trias (father of American karate).
Grand Master Bowles is a 6 time World Champion and has successfully competed in National & International competitions since 1962. His training and competition have taken him around the world, representing the United States in over 16 countries throughout Europe, the Orient and South America.
In 1973, Grand Master Bowles was the first competitor in the history of the United States Karate Association to capture the "Triple Crown" winning 1st Place in all three divisions of Black Belt Form (Kata), Fighting (Kumite) and Weapons (Kobudo).
After the death of his teacher, Grand Master Bowles founded the International Shuri-Ryu Association which is a martial arts organization dedicated to the propagation and continued development of the Shuri-Ryu system of karate-do.
